Scope and Content

This volume contains poems in the Turkmen dialect, mostly by the famous poet Maghtymguly Pyragy, who was born around 1730 CE. The first poem begins:. بر كيجه ياتورديم تونينك يارينده. بو تورت اطلى كلدى تورغين تيديلار. Some of the ghazals bear titles taken from words which occur in the text of the poems in question. On f 98r there is a muhammes. Other poems in this copy are by Daulatyar Beg (f 102v; ff 125r-v); Sayyidi (f 103r); Zalili (f 105r); Bende Murad (ff 105v-114r); and Shahbende (ff 112r-113v). One emendation contains the proper name Tina Negan''chik'' (Тина Неганьчикъ). Folio 55r should come after f 52v. Both these folios have been crossed out with a red pencil. There is a lacuna after f 54v. This manuscript was probably copied in the late 18th or early 19th century CE.
