Scope and Content

This volume contains a biography of Sayyid Aḥmad al-Badawī, (died 675 AH/1276 CE), completed in 1026 AH (1617 CE) by Seyit Mehmet el-Veffak Nakşbendi el-Üsküdari, who compiled this biography by translating extracts from various Arabic sources, and dedicated the finished work to the Grand Vizier Berber Mehmet Paşa and Sultan Ahmet I. As a result of his association with the halife of the Ahmediye tarikat named Hüseyin Efendi, and a vision of Aḥmad al-Badawī in a dream during his stay in Egypt (which began in 1021 AH/1612-13 CE), the author undertook to write this biography. The end of the manuscript contains a number of prayers and other graffiti. The manuscript was likely copied in the 17th century CE.
