Scope and Content

An Ottoman Turkish translation of the letter to Ibn ᶜabdūs by Ibn Zaydūn (died 463 AH/1071 CE) and the commentary on this letter by Ibn Nubātah entited Sarḥ al-ᶜuyūn (سرح العيون) (see GAL. G i, p. 274 and S i, p 485). The translation was made by the Şeyh-ül-İslam Mehmet Sait called Kara Halilzade in 1133 AH (1720-21 CE). The first folio of the current text is missing, and there is a table of contents of the work found on ff 1v-4v. This manuscript is undated, but was likely copied in the 18th century CE.
