This volume contains a general history written by Matrakçı Nasuh, which is based on the famous Arabic work of Ṭabarī, but contines Ṭabarī's account of events as far as the year 958 AH (1551 CE). No complete copy of this work is known to exist. This copy, which contains Volumes 1 and 2, and a small part of Volume 3, is imperfect at the end, breaking off in the story of Behram Çubin. There is no division of the volumes in the text. This copy, however, has been artificially divided into three volumes. The text contains a single unvan. This manuscript is undated, but there is a note at the beginning from the Grand Vezir Halil Paşa, dated 1033 AH (1623-34 CE), stating that the book was to be kept in the library of the mosque attached to his türbe in Üsküdar.
