Scope and Content

This volume contains the collected poetry of Yahya Efendi, Şeyh ül-İslam (died 1053 AH/1643-44 CE). The text of this Divan consists almost entirely of gazeller (ff 1v-38v), with various beyitler from f 39r to the end, including a chronogram giving the date 1009 AH (1600-01 CE). Further poems by Yahya appear on ff 41v-42r. ff 1-2, 7, and 18 all appear to have been restored on glossy paper, although the hand in which they have been copied is fairly consistent with that used in the rest of the manuscript. The manuscript was likely copied in the 18th century CE.
