Scope and Content

This volume contains the collected poetry of Hayreti (died 941 AH/1534-35 CE), which begins with gazeller. They are interspersed with other types of poems and there has been some confusion in the binding. There are lacunae after ff 1, 5, 6, 7, 9, 15, 16, 24, 25, 26, 27, 29, 31, and 29: f 34 should precede f 37; f 36 should come before f 35; and f 37 before 35. Folios 19-40 have been inserted from another copy of the Divan transcribed in a divani kırması hand. From f 41r onward, the order of the folios is correct. Between ff 112v and 116v there is a Şehrengiz on the beauties of Belgrade. The Divan ends with further gazeller and nazireler. The manuscript was copied by İbrahim İbn-i Abdullah in Cairo in 961 AH (1553-54 CE).
