Scope and Content

This volume contains the Divan of Keçecizade Mehmet İzzet Molla (died 1245 AH/1829-30 CE). It begins with a prose preface (ff 1v-5v), followed by a section (f 6r) called Nuut-i risale ve Al-i Resul. Next come kasideler (ff 17v-62r) preceded by a na't on the Twelve Imams, chronograms (ff 62r-120v), and gazeller (ff 120v-242r). The last sections of the Divan are tahmisat and tesdisat (ff 242v-264v), a Sakiname (ff 264r-265v), and miscellaneous poems and mukattaat (ff 265v-294v) containing also matali', müfredat and short mesneviler. This manuscript was copied in 1251 AH (1835-36 CE) by Derviş Mehmet İbn-i Ali el-İmam ve'l-Hatip bi-Cami Hadım Ali Paşa from another copy made by Recep from the author's autograph in 1247 AH (1831-32 CE).
