This volume contains the following Arabic and Ottoman Turkish texts :. (I) ff 2v-30r : al-Risālat al-naiyirah (الرسالة النييرية), an Arabic treatise on the principles of Islamic faith by Ahmet İbn-i Süleyman İbn-i Kemal Paşa (died 940 AH/1533 CE), copied in 1023 AH (1614 CE);. (II) ff 5r-23v margins : Sharḥ arbaᶜīn ḥadīthan (شرح اربعين حديثَ), an Arabic mystical commentary, by Mehmet İbn-i Mahmud el-Aksarayi (active 900 AH/1495 CE) on the forty Traditions selected by him from Muḥyī al-Dīn ibn al-ᶜarabī's al-Ḥadīth al-qudsīyah (الحديث القدسية);. (III) ff 30v-32v : Arbaᶜūn ḥadīthan (اربعون حديثَ), the Forty Traditions, with a metrical Ottoman Turkish translation in the same hand as text I;. (IV) ff 34v-109v : Taᶜrīfāt (تعريفات), an Arabic dictionary of technical terms by ᶜalī ibn Muḥammad al-Jurjānī called al-Sayyid al-Sharīf (died 816 AH/1413 CE), in the same hand as above. Two short Ottoman Turkish tracts on the virtues of reciting Sūrāt I and CXI of the Qur'an can be found on f 34r;. (V) ff 110r-112r : A table giving the prognosis for various days of the month according to the system of the sages of Turkestan (f 110v), an Ottoman Turkish poem on finding the qiblah which is provided with a diagram, a gurrename showing on which day of the week the year 1023 AH (1614 CE) began (f 110v), various prayers in Arabic and Ottoman Turkish (ff 110v-112r), and further prayers and traditions (ff 120v-121v);. (VI) ff 112v-117v : Ikhtiyārāt (اختيارات), three chapters in Arabic on al-Sharīᶜah, al-Ṭarīqah, and al-Ḥaqīqah, in the same hand as above;. (VII) ff 117v-120r : Risālah fī bayān al-mashrūᶜāt wa-ghayr al-mashrūᶜāt (رسالة في بيان المشروعات وغير المشروعات), a treatise on the principles of Islam in Arabic, in the same hand as above;. (VIII) ff 122r-146v : Extracts from various authorities on Qur'anic exegesis and ḥadīth, beginning with Fakhr al-Dīn al-Rāzī, explained in Ottoman Turkish. This is interpolated with very short Arabic and Ottoman Turkish notes and prayers (ff 135v-137v, 142r-v), followed by further prayers (ff 147r-149r), a tradition in Ottoman Turkish (f 151r), a model letter (f 155v), a medical prescription ascribed to Şeyh Şihabeddin Suhraverdi (f 156r), notes recording various domestic events, including the marriage of a servant named Ahmet Bey (ff 156v-157v), prayers in Arabic and Ottoman Turkish including a note on the virtues inherent in reciting Sūrah VI, two talismans (vefk) (f 168r), further traditions in Arabic and Ottoman Turkish (ff 168v-169r), a note on the wives of the Prophet Muhammad صلعم, another gurrename for the year 1158 AH (1745-46 CE) with various short tracts and notes. These are all copied in various hands of the 17th and 18th centuries CE;. (IX) ff 149v-155r : More traditions;. (X) ff 158v-162r : An extract from the Kitāb al-Īmām (كتاب الايمام) of Maṣābīḥ al-sūnnah, a collection of traditions in Arabic by Ḥusayn ibn al-Masᶜūd al-Farrāᶜ al-Baghawī (died 510 AH/1117 CE);. (XI) ff 162v-164r : Al-Majlis fī faḍā'il Sūrat al-Fātiḥah (المجلس في فضائل سورة الفاتحة), an Arabic tract on the virtues of the opening chapter of the Qur'an, in the same hand as text X;. (XII) f 164v : Faṣl fī'l-ᶜadl (فصل في العدل), an Arabic tract on justice in the same hand as above;. (XIII) f 165r : An Arabic commentary on the opening of the Sūrat al-Fajr, in the same hand as above;. (XIV) f 165v : Faṣl fī faḍā'il al-Basmalah (فصل في فضائل البسمالله), an Arabic tract on the virtues of the Bismallah, unfinished in the same hand as above;. (XV) f 167r : A fragment on the conversion of ᶜumar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb to Islam, in the same hand as above. The undated texts in this volume were likely copied in the 17th or 18th century CE.
