Scope and Content

This volume contains a simplified version of the Şefikname, an account in ornate style of the events leading up to the deposition of Mustafa II in favour of Ahmet III in 1115 AH (1703 CE), written by the Vakanüvis Mehmet Şefik Musarrifzade (or Masrafzade). The date 1202 AH (1787-88 CE) appears on the first folio, and this particular copy was likely completed at some point in the 18th century CE.
