This scroll contains a nişan-i şerif transferring the timar (military fief) Szent Tamás in the district of Temesvár, from Kâtip Ali, on his resignation, to his son Mehmet. It is addressed to Yusuf, Beylerbey of Temesvár. The document contains a lavishly decorated tuğra of Sultan Murad IV in gold with floral illumination in myriad colours. The names of various royal and important individuals is also recorded in gold throughout, and a Latin description of the document by Sulayman Negri is found on a separate sheet. The document is dated at Istanbul 18 Şeval 1037 AH (21 June 1628 CE).
