Scope and Content

This volume contains two of the four Divanlar of Mustafa Rıza Neccarzade, a Nakşibendi Şeyh who died in 1159 AH (1746-47 CE). They are as follows:. (I) ff 1v-49v : The title Zuhurat-i gaybiye (called Varidat-i gaybiye by Karatay) is inserted in a later hand in a blank space left for the title in the illuminated heading, although this is usually associated with the Tuhfetü'l-irşad (Or 12119). This is followed by a na't and kasideler (ff 1v-6v), in praise of Arabzade Efendi (f 5v) and another with the redif Beşiktaş (ff 6r-v). Next are the gazeller (ff 7v-49v);. (II) The last section of the manuscript contains the Hatime-i Varidat, the first part of which consists of kasideler (ff 50v-57v), followed by the gazeller (ff 57v-77v). The text contains three unvans. The binding has been incorrectly lettered as 'Dīvān-i Rıẓā'ī'. This manuscript was copied by Ahmet el-Hulusi el-Tarsusi in 1204 AH (1789-90 CE).
