This tome contains the first volume of an Ottoman Turkish commentary on the Qur'an (covering sureler I-XVII; al-fātiḥah to al-isrāᵓ) compiled from the Anwār al-tanzīl of Bayḍawī and the Mavāhib-i laduniyah of Ḥusayn Vāiẕ Kāshifī, compiled by Ahmet İbn-i Abdullah Gurabzade in 1096 AH (1684-85 CE). According to OM I, p. 239, he was a preacher at the Mosque of ᶜabd al-qādir Gīlānī in Baghdad. There is a note on f 1r 'Terdsehumei Tefsîr Kazi Beidhaoui. Traduction turque abrégée du Commentaire de Beidhawi sur le Coran.' The spine has been lettered 'Tafsir i Ghurab', which seems to be an alternative title for the work. The text contains a single unvan. The manuscript was copied by Yusuf İbn-i Mehmet in 1123 AH (1711-12 CE).
