Scope and Content

This volume contains a translation of a treatise on geography and natural history written originally in Arabic by Ibn al-Wardī (died 850 AH/1446-47 CE). The translator's name is provided as Mahmud el-Hatip in Karatay and as Mahmud İbn-i Mehmet İbn-i Dilşad according to Babinger. The date of the translation (970 AH/1562-63 CE) appears on f 3r alongside the name Osman Şah, the dedicatee. This manuscript was likely copied in the 18th century CE.
