Scope and Content

This volume contains the collected poems of Cennet Efendi, called Fenai (died 1077 AH/1665 CE according to Safai). The Divan consists primarily of ilahiler with a few na't. The copyist has added the words Safer 1075 (August-September 1664 CE) to ff 17r-v, 22r, 25r, and 28v-29r, which may be the date of transcription, or possibly the last time when the manuscript was read by the previous owner. Appearances are in favour of the date of transcription, however, recording various stages in this task. Mısri Efendi's commentary on the well-known verses by Yunus Emre has been added in a different, less refined hand on ff 3v-10r, beginning with ''Çıktım erik dalına''. Verses by Gafuri and Eşrefoğlu can be found on ff 73v-75r.
