Scope and Content

This volume contains the collected poetical works of Mehmet Hayali (died 964 AH/1556-57 CE). The section ff 1v-19r bears the title Kasaid-i Hayali Efendi in an illuminated unvan. The second section of the Divan is formed of gazeller (ff 19v-93r), which are also introduced by an illuminated unvan, this one bearing no title. The Divan ends with mukattaat. On the end papers is a chronogram commemorating the birth of Prince Murat, son of Mahmud II, in 1226 AH (1812 CE). The text contains two unvans. The manuscript was likely copied in the latter half of the 17th century CE.
