Scope and Content

The current volume contains a collection of works by Kani :. ff 1v-82v : Münşeat, letters, consisting mostly of those associated with Yeğen Mehmet Paşa, but also containing private letters, many of which are labeled only as suret-i mektup;. ff 83v-201v : Kani Divanı, this collection of poetry begins with a prose preface by Nuri, who edited the volume at the request of Mehmet Reşit Efendi. The first poem is entitled Der vasf-ı Besmele-yi şerif. This is followed by kasideler and chronograms (ff 83v-137r) and gazeller (ff 137v-186v). The Divan ends with mukattaat (ff 189v-202v). This volume was likely copied in the early 19th century.
