Scope and Content

This volume contains the Divan of Prince Cem, son of Mehmet II, whose death took place in Naples in 900 AH (1495 CE). The text begins with a kaside, followed by gazeller (ff 5v-103r) and ends with rubaiyat (ff 104r-106v). Some of the papers on which this text was copied were tinted green. It features numerous seals, including two tuğralar. The manuscript was likely copied in the early 16th century CE in alternating Nastaliq and Divan kırması scripts. Both were probably written by the same copyist. Fully vocalized Nesih text is also found on ff 50r-60v.
