Scope and Content

Hanwell is a village just to the north of Banbury.

Although the living of Hanwell was frequently held together with that of Horley and Hornton, it was only in 1989 that it was formally amalgamated with Horley and Hornton, Shenington and Alkerton.

The following records were all originally deposited with the Bodleian Library in 1980 and then transferred to the Oxfordshire History Centre. Further records were deposited as Acc 6092 in July 2012.

An appendix provides a concordance of old and new references. Recatalogued by Robin Darwall-Smith in May 1996 with additions by Alison Smith in April 2015.
