The history is comprised of a preface followed by 282 pages of text and 25 pages of rough maps and appendices. There is a covering note by Bere to the R.C.S. Librarian, 15 July 1977.

Administrative / Biographical History

Rennie Bere served in the colonial administration in Uganda as Assistant District Officer, 1930; District Officer 1942; Provincial Commissioner, Uganda, 1951-55; and Director and Chief Warden of the Uganda National Parks, 1955-1960. In 1971 he was asked by the then Director to write a history of the Parks, which was completed in 1974. A copy was sent to the Director in 1974, but although it was approved for publication, it remained unpublished.
