Also, the request of the said Cadwaladr Jones to be admitted to take the oath and subscribe the Declarations required by Act of Parliament to qualify him a s dissenting preacher. Cadwaladr Jones (1783-1867) was ordained in 1811 and became pastor of Dolgellau and Islawrdre; he edited 'Y Dysgedydd' for 30 years and in 1821 published a pamphlet entitled 'Amddiffyniad yr Ymneilltuwyr' in the form of a letter to the Rev. John Elias. Accompanying the above document is a letter, 7 February 1928, from M. Maelor Owen of Llys Owain, Dolgellau to W. Pari Huws, suggesting that the document be reproduced in 'Y Dysgedydd'
