Copy Certificate submitted by the minister (William Thomas) and five members of the Llanuwchlyn Congregational Church (Yr Hen Gapel) to the Justices of the Peace at the Merionethshire Quarter Sessions, June 1807, testifying to the fitness and qualification of Cadwaladr Jones of Deildre, Llanuwchlyn to be a dissenting preacher

Also, the request of the said Cadwaladr Jones to be admitted to take the oath and subscribe the Declarations required by Act of Parliament to qualify him a s dissenting preacher. Cadwaladr Jones (1783-1867) was ordained in 1811 and became pastor of Dolgellau and Islawrdre; he edited 'Y Dysgedydd' for 30 years and in 1821 published a pamphlet entitled 'Amddiffyniad yr Ymneilltuwyr' in the form of a letter to the Rev. John Elias. Accompanying the above document is a letter, 7 February 1928, from M. Maelor Owen of Llys Owain, Dolgellau to W. Pari Huws, suggesting that the document be reproduced in 'Y Dysgedydd'
