Scope and Content

Sketches of characters and characters in settings in graphite on 15 sheets of paper, inscribed in graphite with ms notes on colours and details, including references to Hotspur, the Duke of Northumberland, the Duke of York and the King. Four sketches in graphite and water colour have no notes and the smallest drawing mounted on a folded sheets of paper seems to be Hockley's 'finished' sketch, the pin holes in the top corners indicating that it had been pinned up. With an original paper folder inscribed in pencil by Hockley 'Richard II (Benson) '.
