The yard, or 'ship cost' books contain a record of expenditure on fitting out vessels and, up to 1942, on repairing work. There are two series of yard books, no.1 and no.2, up to 1933, then a single series from February of that year. From 1942, repair work is recorded in a separate series of volumes.
