Concerns: the striking of the colours from the French ship at Waterford; Lord Frederick's suspicions about the ship including that it was not short of provisions to get to France but that the captain is a rogue and has embezzled some of the cargo; the claims to the cargo whic he feels should go to the pilots that brought the ship in but probably will go the the Customs House Office; his assertion that "the 29th [Worcestershire Foot Regiment] have gott their share, in making a prize of three fine little Black boys, but mum about that for 'tis a great secret I entrust you with"; a disagreement in Dublin with Lord Rothes and Peter about the hats of the regiment and whether they ought to be cocked. Written from Waterford. Signed "F Cavendish".
