Concerns his comments on politics and on political writing including: the work of Shebbeare and the author of The Monitor (both Jacobites); the author of the Test; his assertion that he would offer his pen to the 4th Duke but that he ought to be careful about employing political writers; his opinion of William Pitt and the public's view of him; his perspective of the war and Britain's changes of holding on to Gibraltar and American colonies after losing Minorca; his assertion that the internal peace of the Kingdom relies on the Jacobites and Papist here being kept under a watchful eye; his concern of the papist influence on English boarding schools; his opinion about the Militia Bill.
