Scope and Content

This collection contains a sketch of the history of Persia, for inclusion in a World History (typescript text of two chapters, with hand-drawn map of Persia and copy photographs to be included as plates), November 1936.

Administrative / Biographical History

Major William Nassau Weech was born in 1878, and was Senior Scholar of New College, Oxford. An assistant master of Cheltenham College, he subsequently became Headmaster of Sedbergh School, Cumbria (1912-1926). He was also Head of School at Winchester College. Author of World History; other publications include History of Sedbergh School, 1525-1925 (with Henry Lowther Clarke), 1925, and World history: the growth of Western civilisation (with R. Flenley), 1936
