302 x 215 mm. A loose uncaptioned print. A view looking down on the east side of the quay, where three large steamers are moored. Beyond the quay can be seen Government House and the Botanical Gardens, Farm Cove, and the naval deport on Garden Island. The turreted building behind the quay is in the place Fort Macquarie originally stored. The building seen here is actually the tram depot, completed in 1902. On the left-hand corner of the photograph, and presumably referring to one of the ships, is the legend 'Registered 1903, Melvin Vaniman, San Francisco'.
