Scope and Content

Concerning the condition, arrangement of and items in Paul Nash's 'Applied Design' exhibition at Leicester and Bristol; the return of the exhibition and Paul Nash's frames; the sale of 'Winter Wood' and 'Design of Arches', and reproductions of 'Megoliths', 'Sussex Landscape', 'Forest of Dean', 'Bomber on the Moor' and 'Moonlight Voyage'; social arrangements between Philip James and Paul Nash; and the inclusion of John Nash's 'Shepherd's Calendar' in the C.E.M.A. 'Book Illustration since 1800' exhibition. Together with a draft letter from Paul Nash to 'The Times' in defence of C.E.M.A. and five presscuttings of letters to The Times following an attack on C.E.M.A. by members of the Royal Academy. Also, manuscript list by Paul Nash of dated works, 1932-42, possibly for C.E.M.A. publication and circular from C.E.M.A. regarding hiring fees. TGA 7050/415 includes pencil note on reverse, (possibly draft telegram) by Nash and TGA 7050/416 includes rough calculations by Nash.
