Administrative / Biographical History

Baron Eric Ashby, 1904-1992, Master of Clare College 1958-1975; distinguished plant scientist (went to Imperial College, London). Toby Jackman was a graduate at Clare c. 1961; later Librarian of the University of British Columbia, and later still a life member of Clare Hall.

Acquisition Information

Acc 1999 - The first two items were transferred by Richard Eden in 1999 (he subsequently sent a copy of the paperwork). According to a note on the file used for the letters (now discarded) Toby Jackman had asked Richard Eden to pass his collection of letters to the Archives. The recordings were transferred by Richard Eden at the same time as the EDEN COLLECTION in December 2004
