These sketch books are the work of the late Mr G M Furley, schoolmaster, of Maes-y-Coed, Llangollen, who died in 1963. He was an Oxford graduate and served with the Royal Welch Fusiliers in Egypt during the First World War. The books contain sketches on a range of themes including British flora, insects and birds, heraldry, landscapes and buildings.
