Scope and Content

The collection comprises of material relating to the English Naval Expedition, 1669-1670 (Captains Sir John Narbrough and Humphrey Fleming) to the southern oceans.

Administrative / Biographical History

William Chambers sailed on board HMS Bachelor, captained by Humphrey Fleming during the English Naval Voyage, 1669-1670 in company with the HMS Sweepstakes(captain Sir John Narborough). Chambers kept a journal of the voyage from its departure to 1670.
