Scope and Content

This collection contains records relating to the Clydebank Co-operative Society. Including 2 volumes of Co-operative wholesale society's annuals (1908-1914), minutes, finance records, correspondences, and staff records relating to retail societies (1881-1981), records relating to the women's and men's guilds (1906-1976), records relating to education and training (1928-1950), and 15 plans for Co-operative shops (Sep 1948-Oct 1948 and Sep 1966-Apr 1969).

Administrative / Biographical History

The Clydebank Co-operative Society was established in 1881. Today it is one of only two remaining independent retail Co-operative Societies in Scotland, maintaining its prime community purpose.
