Scope and Content

This item was lost in the fire in The Mackintosh Building at The Glasgow School of Art on 23rd May 2014. Various repaired vases and drinking vessels (in the possession of the Burrell Collection, Glasgow).

Administrative / Biographical History

Atherton was a student at Manchester College of Art and Design, Leverhulme Scholar, Royal Academy Schools. He later went on to become a member of staff at the Glasgow School of Art from the 1970s until 2003. He is known for his portraits.
