This school in Victoria Road was built in 1913 by the West Riding County Council. It opened as Edlington New Council School comprising Mixed Infants, Junior Boys and Junior Girls departments. Records of the infants department are listed under reference SR.99. The first log book of the girls school dating back to 1913 was destroyed in a fire in February 1944, and this is noted in the surviving volume (SR.76/1/4). In April 1967, the school became Edlington Victoria Junior Mixed in the same premises. As a result of local government reforms, the school came under the administrative control of Doncaster Metropolitan Borough in 1974. In 1978, the school became Victoria Middle, providing education for pupils aged between nine and thirteen years, while the infants department became a First School catering for children aged between four and nine years. In 1994, the Middle School closed with years 6 and 7 transferring to Edlington Comprehensive. In September 1994, Victoria Primary School opened for children aged between four and eleven years. This school occupies the site of both the former First and Middle schools.
