Scope and Content

Mentions John Bishop who left Gloucestershire for Wales and mentions his marriage to Alice Williams of Cowbridge. It was believed that Alice Williams’uncle was John Thomas (1826-1913) who was harpist to Queen Victoria. Enclosed : newscutting relating to a television programme about John Thomas, harpist to Queen Victoria. Also enclosed: copy of Morning Chronicle, 19 June 1805, page from Detroit Free Press, 1895 [relevance to family history is not certain] and printed story ‘Going to be Bishop’d’
