Administrative / Biographical History

The Electrical Power Engineers' Association (EPEA) was formed in 1919. On 7 April 1977 the EPEA created a federal type structure called the Engineers' and Managers' Association (EMA). The EPEA remained as an autonomous group within the EMA until 1993 representing all staff in the electricity supply industry.
