Minutes and inserted printed and manuscript material, including a list of members, correspondence, printed reports and other publications, apparently representing the complete proceedings of the Association for the period 1855-1862. At the front of the volume is an article by J.S. O'Halloran, 'Reminiscences of the Australian Association', from his 'Colonies and India', 1884.

The General Association for the Australian Colonies was founded in London in 1855 'by colonists and others who associated themselves together for the purpose of furthering the welfare and prosperity of the Australian colonies'.
