Scope and Content

Graves's speech 'The Phenomenon of Mass-Tourism', given at the Madrid Athenaeum Club on 3 March 1964, discusses the experience of mass tourism in Majorca in the early 1960s. Graves draws on his personal experiences of Majorca and foreign travel, anecdotes from tour guides, brings in passages from his 1962 Blashfield Address 'The Word Báraka' and approvingly cites Queen Salote of Tonga's tourism policy.
