Ms and ts drafts of 'The Poet's Paradise', an address given by Graves to the Oxford University Humanist Group and subsequently published. Graves discusses the concept of a poetic trance, and describes the experience of taking hallucinogenic mushrooms.

This refers to the arrangement of the papers in Robert Graves’ study before they were transferred to the College.

Custodial History

Graves clearly drew on this work for his later essay 'A Journey to Paradise'; reworked drafts of this speech and related material can be found at RG/G/CJP. The two works were stored in the same box file in Graves's bedroom cupboard, and material arrived in some disorder.
