Scope and Content

Handwritten letter from Pears to Burton. Pears mentions Galina Vishnevskaya and a week of master classes she has given on Russian Songs at the Britten-Pears School.

Pears suggests that Burton films her at the School for the BBC. Also, note by Burton, Jun 2022, explaining that he was unable to film Vishnevskaya as Pears had suggested.

Inclues 2 photographs of Pears at Burton's house in London, presumably when he was being filmed for an interview, and 1 photograph of Burton, John Williams and Oiliver Knussen at Tanglewood, late 1980s. Photographs by Christina Burton.

Three further letters from Burton to Pears dated 1978-1984
