Dr John Knight Davidson, radiologist

Dr Davidson gained his medical qualifications from Edinburgh University (MB ChB 1948 and MD 1964) and later undertook radiological training at the Royal Infirmary, Edinburgh and at St Bartholomews Hospital, London. Now retired he was formerly Consultant Radiologist in administrative charge at the Western Infirmary and Gartnaval General Hospital, Glasgow. He also held consultant radiology posts in Sydney, Australia between 1991-1993 and carried out similar work in district general hospitals in Scotland. From 1967-1990 Dr Davidson was an Honorary Clinical Lecturer at Glasgow University. He is an honorary fellow of the American College of Radiology, the Royal Australian College of Radiology and the Scottish Radiology Society. To date Dr Davidson has published a considerable number of scientific journals on a wide variety of topics and has contributed to a number of textbooks, topics including skeletal disorders and ultrasound. The Newton Victor Model K-5 Portable X-Ray Unit was used by Dr Davidson in the course of his work. In Dr Davidson was awarded an OBE 1990.
