Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
After serving in the Seaforth Highlanders during the Second World War, Taylor completed his training as an electrician, working for the Electricity Board in Stretford near Manchester up to 1948, and the John Jackson and Son branch of Spillers Limited, Dock Mill, Manchester from 1948 to 1951. From 1951 he worked for the Co-operative Wholesale Society, firstly at the soap works and later at the margarine works in Irlam, until his retirement at age 65.
