Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
During the 1950s and 1960s Askins was a bus conductor and shop steward, and Communist Party industrial organiser. Also joint secretary of the National Council, he was involved as secretary in the North-West Regional Council for Peace in Vietnam.
