Ellison papers

Official and personal papers of Bishop Gerald Ellison, who served as Bishop of Chester and Bishop of London.

For biographical information, see standard works such as the 'Dictionary of National Biography' and 'Who was Who'. A tribute was made to Bishop Ellison in General Synod on 27 February 1981: see published proceedings, pp. 396-405.

The principal division is by provenance: Ellison O (official papers, received from St Paul's Cathedral) and Ellison P (personal papers, received from his home at Cerne Abbas, Dorset).
