Scope and Content

This collection contains correspondence with constituents and subject files dating mainly from 1970-1974, including papers relating to Coombs's proposals for a political settlement in Northern Ireland.

Administrative / Biographical History

Derek Coombs was born in 1937. Initially a political journalist, he was also Conservative MP for Birmingham Yardley from 1970 to 1974.
