Scope and Content

For homage and service, and a gressum of 8s, Bartholomew de Smaluwde [Smalwood?] confirms his gift to his brother Ralph of all his meadowland in Smaluwde, lying between meadow of William le Cupe' and meadow of Bartholomew's brother John. A quit-rent of one halfpenny is reserved for all services. Witnessed by Thomas de Hulmo, Stephen his brother, William de Herst, Robert his brother, Robert Freman, Bartholomew Gurram, Edmund son of Roger, and many others. Pendant tagged white round seal, device worn and legend illegible. Endorsed in a later hand: 'fr 45 / Pratum de Bradefeld'.
