Beginning in 1980 as the Campaign Against The Oxford Missiles (CATOM / Campaign Atom) and renamed in the mid-1980s to become the Oxford Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament, Oxford CND is active to the present day. It campaigns for nuclear weapon disarmament and other peace issues, and against research, development, proliferation, transport and deployment of nuclear weapons and nuclear power. The records here represent a good range of materials covering the work of the organisation including minutes, newsletters, campaign flyers and posters and some correspondence. Although the records cover most periods of Oxford CND's existence other materials are also held by the Bodleian Library (MSS. Eng. c. 2050-2072 donated 1989 and covering 1976-1988, plus 22 uncatalogued boxes donated in 1992/1993).
