    • Eight archival folders of A5 printed documents ordered chronologically and corresponding to the sporting seasons (e.g. 1995/96) between Spring 1995 and Autumn 2011 one folder of A5 printed documents predominantly relating to women's hockey in England in 1997/98 and 2011 one folder of assorted printed documents consisting of handbooks and programmes from hockey events between 1989 and 2012.

Scope and Content

This archive contains weekly newsletters published by the governing body of hockey in England. The newsletters contain an overview of the previous week's most notable results, and important events pertaining to hockey such as league restructuring, transfer lists and mentions of the switch to water-based pitches during this period. The newsletters also include results, league tables, player statistics and adverts (both hockey and non-hockey related).

Administrative / Biographical History

Roger Merry was an English hockey coach working from the late 1980s until the early 2010s. He was Director of Coaching at Southampton Hockey Club and organised youth tournaments which involved clubs across the South of England.
