Includes a photograph album 'College and Teaching Days' containing snapshots of a meeting near Loch Lomond, Scotland 1905; of CSSM [Childrens Special Service Mission] at Swanage 1906; of Girton (including the water-polo team 1906, Fire Brigade, Hockey Team and two of Dorothy Brock, a contemporary) and of school and family groups. There are two separate photographs of Stella Courtenay Dawson. Certificates include Red Cross, University and College certificates. The letters of testimonial include one from E E Constance Jones, one from M B Thomas and one from Dorothy Marshall, all 1907. There are also letters from Stella Courtenay Dawson's son, Richard Peterson in 1998 giving biographical details of his mother

Administrative / Biographical History
Stella Petersen (nee Dawson) was born in Kent and educated at Mecklenburg House, Putney. She read Natural Sciences at Girton 1904-07 and received a BA in 1907 from Trinity College Dublin (quasi ad eundem) and MA (Cantab) 1939. She went on to teach science at Blackburne House, Liverpool. She married John Petersen in 1914 and had four daughters and one son. She was an Honorary Life Member of the Red Cross and a swimming examiner.
