Ledger and journal of Gaewern Slate works, Machynlleth, 1835-1856; accounts and notebooks of the Ratgoed and Cymerau Slate Quarries, Tal-y-llyn, and Llwyngwern Slate Quarry, Llanuwchllyn, 1853-1899; ledgers and notebook of the Cambrian Slate Works, Machynlleth, 1899-1909; minute books of the Abercorris Slate Quarry Company, Rhiwgwreiddyn, Corris, 1893-1909, and the Towyn Company, Tywyn, 1893-1903; and miscellaneous accounts and ledgers, 1827-1909.

Although the records have since their arrival at the Library been known by the name 'Ratgoed Records', it will be seen from the schedule that the records of several Merionethshire quarry companies are included in the collection. Some may be those of quarries connected with the Ratgoed Quarry Company; more likely, perhaps, some may be records of companies which were represented at different times by the same agent or agents.

Arranged into : Gaewern Slate Works; Ratgoed Quarries; Cymerau Quarries; Llwyngwern Slate Quarry; Towyn Company Limited; Abercorris Slate Quarry, Rhiwgwreiddyn, Corris; Cambrian Slate Works, Machynlleth; and miscellaneous items which could not be assigned to one company or quarry.
