Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
During the later 19th century Edward Baker, general shopkeeper and haberdasher, and his family, owned property in High Street, Abergavenny, Monmouthshire. Edward Baker died in 1914. John Berry, boot dealer, owned the properties between 1920 and 1944, followed by Emlyn Powell Williams, wholesale leather merchant. Curry's electrical retailers took over the property in 1950.
